Network Marketing is one of the largest growing industries around at the moment.  Despite certain negative connotations labeled to it, more and more people each day are signing up to do direct sales with the dreams of working from home and obtaining some kind of Financial Freedom.  Unfortunately there are a lot of people that realize this and there are some things when choosing a company to go with that are vital to avoid getting yourself in a bad situation.

1. Choose a Publicly Traded Company

A common misconception about a lot of Network Marketing companies are that they are a big scam and are out to get you.  Unfortunately there are some people out there who do this dishonestly and you need to watch out for those.  A sure fire way to do that is to only go with a company that is Publicly Traded.  Now do not get me wrong, there are very reputable companies out there that are Privately owned.  However for me, because of the legal transparency I would only feel comfortable doing business with a publicly traded company.

2. Understand that this merchandise is NOT going to sell itself

People think MLM companies are get rich quick schemes.  While people join Direct sales for many reasons, the people who are successful in this industry put time in.  The merchandise does not sell itself and you do not grow your downline simply by putting a bumper sticker on your car.  The real success stories had a game plan and they saw that plan through.  Network Marketing is a legit business, treat it like one and you will do well.

3. Is there anything backing the products claims

Everyone out there claims their product works but how do we really know.  There are plenty of studies done and videos claiming things work but you need to understand where the studies are coming from.  For example I work with a company who has products proven on pubmed.gov.  This is the top government cite showing peer-reviewed studies done by major Universities.  This is the end all website for health related products.  If you don’t have legit backing beware.

4. Is the Buy in Price Reasonable

If the Company you are looking at has a buy in price in the thousands, stay away.  Good companies should only make you pay for the things you are getting in your start up kit.  If they are asking for more be weary.

5. Am I right for Network Marketing
